Adults-Only Cruises
Every Virgin Voyages sailing is 18 and over. Four ships, more than twenty restaurants in the fare with no buffets and no dress code, WiFi and group fitness included, and a Bar Tab instead of a drinks package. Plan My Voyage What Is Included
Virgin Voyages is one of the lines I book most for couples and friends who want the adults-only week on the water, alongside Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Norwegian, Princess, Holland America, MSC and Disney Cruise Line. Same rule as the resorts: I have walked the ships I sell, and I tell you which cabin, which deck and which sailing actually fits.
How Virgin Is Different
No kids anywhere on the ship, no buffet, no main dining room, no formal night. You are a Sailor, not a passenger. Dinner is at one of more than twenty restaurants with menus created with Michelin-starred chefs, every one of them included, and you can eat at nine in shorts. WiFi is in the fare, so are the group fitness classes and the shows, and drinks run on a Bar Tab you top up rather than a package you buy in advance.
The energy is the point. Scarlet Night, the red-themed deck party, happens once a sailing. There is a tattoo studio on board. The Beach Club at Bimini, Virgin's own beach club in the Bahamas, is on many of the Caribbean itineraries out of Miami. If your picture of a cruise is a formal dining room and a kids' pool, this is the opposite of that, on purpose. Cabins
Virgin sells three kinds of room, and the middle one is the one most of my Sailors book. The suites change the whole trip, not just the square footage.
Where They Sail
Four near-identical ships, so the choice is the itinerary, not the hardware. The Caribbean runs from Miami and San Juan and usually calls at The Beach Club at Bimini; the Mediterranean runs from Barcelona and Athens; Brilliant Lady, the newest, opened Los Angeles and Seattle in 2026 and sails Alaska in summer.

The original. Summers in the Mediterranean out of Athens, with Barcelona and Rome some years; winters in the Caribbean, the short Miami sailings with The Beach Club at Bimini through spring 2027, then the Southern Caribbean from San Juan for winter 2027 to 2028.
In service since 2022
The ship that changes map most: New York for Bermuda, New England and Canada in fall 2026, the Southern Caribbean from San Juan that winter, Miami short sailings from spring 2027 into 2028, then the Western Mediterranean from Barcelona and a first Scandinavia and Baltics season from Amsterdam in summer 2028.

Miami's year-round ship for now: short Caribbean sailings in summer 2026, six-to-eight-night Eastern and Western Caribbean loops that winter, a summer 2027 season in the Western Mediterranean from Barcelona, then back to Miami. The Eastern Caribbean loops to Puerto Plata, Samaná and Grand Turk are hers.
In service since September 2025
The newest, launched from New York in 2025, then Miami, Los Angeles and Seattle in 2026: the Mexican Riviera from LA and Alaska from Seattle, both firsts for the line, with a Panama Canal crossing between Los Angeles and Miami twice a year.
The Fare
Virgin calls it Always Included, and the list is real. It is not all-inclusive in the resort sense, because alcohol and gratuities sit outside the fare, so here is the honest split.
Promotions change constantly, and Virgin and my host agency both run them. I never quote a sailing without checking what is on it that week.
Straight Answer
No kids, no buffets, no formal nights. Also no quiet ship.
The energy runs high: Scarlet Night, late-night parties, a nightclub, a pool deck with a DJ. If your adults-only picture is a silent pool, a spa and an early night, a quiet adults-only resort or a suite-class cabin on a traditional line may fit better, and I will say so. If it is dinner at nine, a show, and a party after, Virgin is the one, and the fare covers more of it than any other line I book.
Common Questions
Yes. The minimum age to book and sail is 18 on every ship and every itinerary, checked with ID at the pier, and there are no family or all-ages sailings. It is the only major cruise line built that way from the start.
All of the more than twenty restaurants and eateries with no upcharges, soda, still and sparkling water, non-pressed juices, tea and drip coffee, WiFi, group fitness classes and the gym, and the shows. Virgin calls it Always Included and values it at over $1,000 per voyage. Alcohol runs on a Bar Tab and service gratuities are a separate line at booking.
Not in the resort sense. Dining, essential drinks, WiFi, fitness and entertainment are in the fare, which is more than any other big line includes. Alcohol is pay-as-you-go through a Bar Tab, and for bookings made on or after October 7, 2025, service gratuities are shown separately: $20 per night prepaid or $22 per night on board, with no tipping expected anywhere on the ship after that.
You load a Bar Tab before or during the sailing and drinks are charged against it at posted prices that already include gratuity. Prepaying usually earns bonus credit on top of what you load, in tiers that change by promotion, and a Premium fare or a RockStar suite comes with some bar credit built in. Anything unused on a prepaid tab is refunded at the end of the voyage. I tell you the current bonus tiers when I quote.
No. There are no formal nights and no dress codes at the restaurants. Sailors dress up for Scarlet Night because they want to, not because a maître d' says so.
Four: Scarlet Lady (2021), Valiant Lady (2022), Resilient Lady (2023) and Brilliant Lady (September 2025), all built from the same design at Fincantieri in Italy and carrying about 2,770 Sailors each. Mid-size ships, so nothing on board feels like a mall.
Miami and San Juan for the Caribbean, Barcelona and Athens for the Mediterranean, Seattle for Alaska and Los Angeles for the Mexican Riviera, with Portsmouth and Amsterdam for Northern Europe in summer. New York has been a fall homeport too: Brilliant Lady in 2025 and Valiant Lady in 2026, for Bermuda, New England and Canada. Many of the Miami itineraries call at The Beach Club at Bimini, Virgin's own beach club in the Bahamas.
Virgin's suites. Every RockStar suite comes with priority boarding, a personal RockStar Agent, access to Richard's Rooftop, a private sun deck with its own cocktail hours, drinks in the suite and around the ship, and dining reservations that open 120 days out. Mega RockStar Quarters, the Massive, Fab, Posh and Gorgeous suites, add private transfers to and from the port, premium WiFi and a bottomless in-room bar restocked daily.
No. You pay the same fare you would see on Virgin's site, and the line pays me. What you get on top: a First Mate who has toured the ships and knows which cabin and deck to ask for, the reservations booked the day the windows open, bonus onboard credit or hosted events on the sailings that qualify through my host agency, and one person to text if anything needs sorting. I plan for travelers nationwide.
First Mate is Virgin Voyages' own certification for travel advisors, and Gold is the tier for the agents who have completed the line's full training and sell it regularly. It means I know the ships, the cabin categories, the fare tiers and the promotions from the inside, not from a brochure.
Yes, and they are the sailings that sell out first. Comedy Fest sailed twice in 2026, New York to Bermuda in April and out of Portsmouth in August. The True Crime Voyage returns on Scarlet Lady on March 20, 2027, five nights from Miami with live podcast recordings on board. Sisters at Sea, on February 16, 2027, puts all four Lady ships at sea together for the first time. The Eat and Drink Festival takes over every ship on sailings from late August into September, January is Well-being Season with spa-led programming, and the late-November to late-December holiday sailings carry festive menus and live holiday entertainment. If the theme is the reason you are going, tell me, because the ships and dates change every year.
About two years out. As of September 2026, the Caribbean is open through October 2028, the Mediterranean through October 2028, Panama Canal and West Coast sailings through March 2028, and Alaska through September 2027, with Alaska 2028 scheduled to open in November 2026. Virgin prices a sailing lowest when it opens and raises it as cabins fill, so if you have a specific ship and week in mind, I book it early and keep an eye on the promotions after.
That is all I need to come back with two or three sailings that fit, the cabin I would book on each, and whatever extras that week's promotions add. I will tell you straight if Virgin is the wrong line for the trip. If you have these five things, even roughly, the first reply is a real shortlist:
