From NOW Emerald to Secrets Mirabel Cancun

If Secrets Mirabel looks familiar, that’s because this site has been a resort for over 40 years. Most recently, it was NOW Emerald Cancun, which closed in late 2023 for a total transformation.

Let’s be clear: this is not just a renovation. It’s essentially a reconstruction. The historic main building was preserved, but everything inside — colors, décor, furniture, layouts — has been completely rebuilt to Secrets standards. On top of that, a brand-new Preferred Club tower has been added right up front with prime oceanfront views.

Federico Echaiz (GM) – 20+ years as GM at Belmond Maroma, plus luxury pedigree from Park Hyatt Argentina.

Caballeros Vacations Pro Tip Pro-tip: Preferred Club rooms with the word TERRACE in their name do not have covered balconies since they are located in the older pyramid shaped buildings A/B. Only rooms in the new Preferred Club Tower (Building C) have shade on their balconies.

Olio – Mediterranean dinner + à la carte breakfast for Preferred Club; terrace open for snacks at lunch.

Ocean Side

Bordeaux – French fine dining with wine cellar.
El Patio – Mexican with agave pairings.
Blue Water Grill – steakhouse with outdoor terrace seating.
