After a tough couple of years, we are all looking for ways to save a little on our vacations. There is no denying that a Walt Disney World vacation can really quickly add up in price, but we are here to help you out with our top money-saving tips for Disney World in 2022.
Book Your Vacation With a Disney Travel Planner
The great thing about booking with an authorized Disney Travel Planner is that we can alert you about any offers for your upcoming vacation – even if it’s already booked! Need to stay on hold for hours to book that new promotion? Have an existing booking that could cost less with a new sale and need to spend hours calling into Disney to redo your booking? We got you covered! Weβre dedicated to helping your money go further, no matter what type of resort you are looking to stay at.
With many years of experience booking Disney vacations, you can be sure that weβll be able to answer any questions you have about your next trip. Best of all – our team will be on hand throughout the booking process to support you with your Disney vacation planning. From dining reservations, to providing the best tips for Genie+, and which rides to focus your Lightning Lanes on.
Use a Refillable Mug
When staying at one of the Disney resorts, you might opt to dine in the food court or a quick-service dining location a few times. We highly recommend picking up one of the refillable mugs, which can be used throughout your vacation. Once you arrive at your Resort, you’ll be able to purchase these mugs in the Resort’s quick-service restaurant and you can refill your mug at any Rapid Refill Station, even at another Resort. These entitle you to unlimited refills of coffee, tea, and soft drinks, and you could even share a mug between a couple of you. Sodas and coffees soon add up in price, so this is a great way to keep hydrated and refreshed while hanging out by the pool or in your resort room.

Take note that these refillable mugs can only be refilled at the resort, not at the parks. However my favorite money-saving tip here is to bring the mugs anyway! Start the day with filled mugs, and when they are empty, ask for a free cup of iced water at any quick-service dining location inside the parks. Since the mugs are insulated, you now have a nice cold drink to keep you hydrated throughout your day! You can even pair it with a flavor enhancer for an added kick.
Each mug is 16oz, insulated, and will allow for unlimited refills for 14 days after purchase. So if you know you have to buy 4 coffee’s every morning, for the next week – these refillable mugs can end up saving you a good amount of money.
Pack Some Snacks
While you likely want to book a few nice meals for your trip, we recommend packing some snacks to get you through the mornings and afternoons until lunch or dinner. Disney snacks are fun to have from time to time, but they arenβt the healthiest or the most affordable. Bring some pre-packed snacks with you. These are usually fairly lightweight, and easy to pack with you.

If you have an accommodation with a kitchen, consider making breakfast there and packing a few sandwiches before heading out for the day to save some extra money. These may require a bit more packing room than the pre-packed snacks shown above, however you might be able to save yourself a $65 lunch bill.
Have a Day Off From the Parks
The theme parks are usually the main reason that people visit Disney World, but thereβs so much more to see and do here. Consider planning one day off from the parks during your trip, which can save you a day of park tickets. You could visit a water park, hang out at your resort pool, or go for lunch at Disney Springs. Something we love to do is resort hop! All of the Disney resorts are beautifully themed, and it’s well worth it to take some time and visit them all. You can easily plan a day visiting several of the Disney World resorts. Having breakfast at Topolino’s Terrace at Disney’s Riviera Resort , and then lunch at Sanaa at Animal Kingdom, and finishing it off with dinner at California Grill at the Contemporary – where you can get a wonderful view of the Magic Kingdom nightly fireworks show.
These days end up being much slower paced than the park days, yet you will still find plenty to keep you busy. And your bodies will get a much-needed break from the parks.
Skip The Car Rental When Staying On-Site
While some of our clients canβt imagine visiting Disney without a car, which we have some money-saving tips for also; when staying on-site at a Disney resort, renting a car is really not necessary. Between the buses, Disney Skyliner, monorail, and boats, there are plenty of free ways to get to the parks each day. This money can be much better spent elsewhere, and you can relax and enjoy someone else driving you around the resort. Car rentals are certainly not cheap nowadays, so this is one expense we encourage you to think twice about.
Use Credit Card Perks
Credit card perks are a great way to maximize the savings during your Disney World vacation. We put together a full guide on all the different ways you can do that – from earning cashback on the original ticket purchase, to using Marriott Bonvoy points to stay at a Deluxe Disney resort. Check that out here.
