The villas at Iberostar Paraiso Grand have long been a favorite for those who know about them. However since there are only 20 of these on property, and since they generally tend to book up instantly, AND are located in a rather remote area of the Iberostar Paraiso complex, where nobody really goes unless they are staying in a Villa, most people don’t know these even exist! However these are an amazing room category here, and probably one of the most affordable villa experiences you can get in the Riviera Maya!
Luckily we’ve had the pleasure of staying in these villas several times now, with our most recent stay being November 2022, and we have absolutely loved the experience every single time. Even more-so every client we’ve ever booked into these villas has left with a glowing review! As such, we wanted to introduce these villas to you, and share some updates for those who haven’t stayed here in a while, or for those who’ve never stayed in the Grand Paraiso villas at all!
First and foremost let’s address the elephant in the room. Pricing. The idea of an all-inclusive villa sounds extremely expensive, however Iberostar has historically priced these rooms the same as standard oceanfront rooms here. Superior Oceanfront actually prices more! Keep in-mind that an average week at Iberostar Grand Paraiso in a standard garden room costs upwards of $3000/couple, Oceanfront and these Villa’s end up right around $1000 more.

While the choice here is going to depend primarily on what you want more – space and privacy versus the views and sounds of the ocean, we do feel it important to make the distinction that the Oceanfront rooms are the same exact rooms as the standard garden-view rooms. The only difference is that you are truly oceanfront when you step out onto your balcony. Superior Oceanfront is also the same layout, the only difference is these are located on the top floor of the 2 oceanfront buildings.
The Honeymoon Villas at Iberostar Grand Paraiso however have an entirely unique layout, and are located in a remote area of the complex. So much so that most people don’t actually know these exist!
These villas boast 2088sq.ft. of space, and feature a jacuzzi tub, indoor and outdoor rain shower, 2 sinks, his and hers closets, a king size bed, and your own personal backyard and pool. The standard amenities such as a hair dryer, safe, mini-fridge, and coffee machine are all present also; and you get full use of the famous Iberostar Grand butler service!

The entire bathroom area can easily be closed off using a series of doors, allowing you full privacy from anyone else in the main room. Likewise you can also leave the doors open, prepare a hot jacuzzi, and stream your favorite show on the TV – which is large enough and positioned just right so you can see it from the tub.

One side of the villa is basically all glass, however there are several layers of cover you can apply. From a light shade, to wooden shutters which can be opened and closed, to another layer of dark shades. As such, if you absolutely need to entirely block out any light from the glass doors/windows – you totally can.
The room features a hammock, which hangs in front of a totally private “patio”. I use this term loosely, as it isn’t really large enough for anything. You can open the glass doors, and you can lay on the hammock and see some sky. That’s about it.
The TV is a newer Samsung unit, with good brightness if you are going to be watching it during the day with the shades open. 80% of the available TV channels are in Spanish, however there is a Chromecast device installed allowing you to easily stream Netflix, Peacock, Hulu, Disney+, YouTube, etc.
Storage is beyond ample. 6 drawers, 8 shelf’s, and 2 hanging closets in the bathroom alone. The main room features a drawer inside each night table, plus 2 drawers in the media center, and 2 additional cubbies with 2 shelf’s each on the sides in the media center. Plus, none of that space is taken up by the towels the room comes with. All of that has its own storage. You can unpack entirely when you arrive, organize everything, and still have room left over.
The backyard is large. Whenever we come with friends and family, we easily fit 5-6 of us in the backyard. Order some room service, and relax.
For those who haven’t stayed in these rooms in a while, you’ll notice that the outside has now been painted a new off-white color, versus the previous burgundy. The outdoor hammock is also gone, and the patio furniture has been downgraded a bit.

The pool isn’t something you’ll be doing laps in, however it’s much larger than a standard plunge pool. In-fact I actively fell into it with little concern following my morning runs!
Lastly the rooms come with a set of bicycles which can be used anywhere on property! They come with a bike lock, so you can easily ride these over to anywhere else, lock them up, and proceed with your day!
